Jill Kovalich, Founder of SoloAgersConnect

I am excited to be presenting the webinar Solo Agers: Thriving with Independence in collaboration with AARP Connecticut on May 6 at 7 pm EST.

There is a vibrant yet somewhat invisible population of 16 million across the U.S. over age 50 who are navigating life with independence and resilience, without a spouse, partner, or close relatives involved in their daily lives—known as Solo Agers.

Join me and I explore emerging and shifting demographics that shine a light on the needs of our aging population and examine life today and in the future. We’ll unpack important factors including community support, risks of loneliness and isolation, and strategies for staying connected and engaged.

This is a free online event, and AARP membership is not required.

About the Presenter

Jill Kovalich is the Founder of SoloAgersConnect.com, and informational website designed specifically for solo agers. A solo ager herself, Jill built the website in response to a fruitless search to answer her own questions along her journey. Without a spouse or children and few family members, her questions are shared by many other solo agers.

Who will take care of me when I am old?

Who should I assign to act on my behalf if I am incapacitated?

Should I take action now to plan to remain independent and age in place?

Learn more about Jill’s journey and listen to her podcast interviews.

Jill plans to expand her website to provide guidance and education for those on the same path of aging solo. She intends to address issues around finance, estate planning, insurance, burial planning, solo travel, defining purpose, living with meaning, developing friendships and support communities, and finding joy.  Meanwhile, she has launched Solo Ager Coffee Socials in Connecticut, her home base, for solo agers to connect socially with their local peers in a safe and welcoming environment.
