Solo Agers Connect: A Presentation with Founder Jill Kovalich
There are an estimated 16 million individuals in the U.S. over the age for 50 who, by choice or circumstance, are single, unmarried, or unpartnered with no or estranged children involved in their lives; Solo Agers are making decisions about their future alone without the benefit of a partner or family support. If this resonates with you, please join us for an approximate 1-hour presentation that explores:
- The shifting demographics in our aging nation
- The impact on our lives and services
- Loneliness and isolation
- Strategies for staying connected
- Strategies for cultivating a positive mindset
Questions and conversation will be welcome.
About the Presenter
Jill Kovalich, Founder, Solo Agers Connect LLC, is a marketing expert exploring issues faced around aging alone. Jill is a solo ager herself.
Jill’s Story
“As I approached my sixtieth birthday, I experienced the loss of both of my parents and shared in their care during the final years of their lives. After they passed, I faced the daunting task of emptying and selling our family home — the place that had been the heart of our family for more than sixty years. I began asking myself difficult questions about my own future as a solo ager. Who will manage my finances if I become unable to do so? Who will make medical decisions on my behalf with compassion and care? Who will ensure my final wishes are carried out when I am no longer here?”
“My search for answers to these important—and sometimes unsettling—questions led me down a path that would ultimately change the course of my life. Along the way, I discovered that millions of people face the same concerns. That journey inspired me to create SoloAgersConnect.com, an online resource and community for Solo Agers like me who deserve information, support, connection, and a voice in the conversation about aging well.”
